So you want be a Web intern nerd.nerd? Maybe your your skill set is tight enough for a senior level flash developer position. For this piece, I thought I'd review some of most recent career opportunities at Burton Snowboards. Burton is headquartered in Burlington (Vermont, USA) with locations in Wrentham (Mass., USA), Irvine (California, USA), Santa Barbara (California, USA), New York (NY, USA), Innsbruck (Austria) and Tokyo (Japan). If you think you have what it takes, then read on.

Here's a look at the current job descriptions in the Creative department...

1. Men's Snowboard Boot Designer As the Men’s Snowboard Boot Designer, you will be part of our creative team responsible for developing boot upper and liner designs to fit within the market. Your primary responsibilities will include:

· Developing all outsole and footbed designs, and approve all reviews of blueprints, tech drawings, and other new mold tooling.
· Producing logo and detail applications into upper and outsole designs.
· Constructing designs for all common boot features: laces, backstays, hooks, etc.
· Creating colorways for all collections.
· Providing all pattern "tweaks" during the development cycle.
· Keeping abreast of all developments in leathers, synthetics, textiles, and boot hardware.
· Interfacing with R&D and boot developers regarding design concepts and their applications to product.
· Working with the Creative Team to ensure co-development features are included in boot designs.
· Interacting with team riders and Product Managers and on-snow testing situations to incorporate rider feedback into designs.
· Working in conjunction with the Design Director and Product Managers to meet product needs, production and market deadlines.

This position requires a Bachelors degree (which can be earned via traditional or online schooling) plus a minimum of 3 years experience designing footwear preferably in the skate or snowboard industry. Experience with Photoshop Illustrator preferred. Requires strong creative talent and an innovative mind.

2. Brand Designer - Print We're looking for a dreamer, a thinker, and a doer - wrapped into one. You will primarily focus on print design projects for our Men's Burton Branding team. You understand brand communications, promotions and advertising. You have a background creating innovative design solutions for the sideways culture, art, music and/or fashion brands. You have a track record of dreaming big, and executing in the real world. You take projects from concept to completion.

3. Lead Women's Brand Designer This newly created position will be responsible for designing and developing marketing pieces that generate demand for the Women's Burton brands. This person will work with the Women's account team to manage creative projects from concept to completion, including research, development and design of all types of collateral. The ideal candidate will be able to show previous work that is truly innovative and on target. Candidate must be able to clearly explain the process they went through to develop previous work.

Must be able to identify and explain the motivations of all existing and potential Women's Burton consumers. Must be able to identify seasonal trends, themes, concepts that appeal to snowboarders around the globe. Will work with a variety of individuals including team riders, marketing managers and sales to create a Burton brand image that exceeds the expectations of the customer.

Graphic Design degree, or other appropriate field, as well as 3+yrs of graphic design experience preferred. Illustrator, Photoshop, Quark or InDesign experience required. Knowledge of the action sports or sports industry required. Requires strong conceptual talent, as well as a creative and innovative mind and a great sense of design, form and aesthetics.

4. Senior Flash Developer Do you have mad flash skills? Do you dream in ActionScript? If so, keep reading�

We are looking for someone to lead all things related to flash development for Burton’s various web properties. You will work with project managers, designers and .NET developers to plan for, develop and deploy bleeding edge Flash-based websites and modules. Qualified candidates must have experience developing large scale data driven Flash applications as well as implementing and enforcing Flash-development standards and best practices.

Our web design team is responsible for every facet of Burton's online presence. We create online experiences that lead our industry in design, web-based marketing and sales initiatives.

As a member of our team, you will:

Help create innovative, beautiful and intuitive user experiences.
Work in a highly collaborative, team-based environment to define and execute project goals, structure, navigation and visual design.
Provide production, design, and administrative support to our design team.
Attend internal team meetings and client-based session.

6. Web Designer nerd.nerd?
